The RCM Hub is an initiative to bring together the fruits of years of research into the past, present and future of three of the genera which have helped to shape gardens across the UK and beyond – Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia – to provide an open access digital information service to researchers, growers and conservationists alike.
Forging and fusing the combined experience of its developers and contributors as editors, authors, researchers, archivists, genealogists and gardeners, the intention is to share the wealth of material gathered with like minds, offering signposts to sources elsewhere and encouraging participation to build the knowledge base into a world class asset – a true information hub sought out as the first port of call for researchers.
High among our priorities will be the continued development of a unique conservation database steadily revealing the details of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias growing in our collections and gardens today.
From catalogues to field notes, taxonomy to trivia, paintings to personalities, this is an exciting project and one you can help with as there are sure to be gaps in our records.
